In a world where so many are grappling with pain, division, and uncertainty, the arenas of sports and entertainment hold a unique and powerful promise: they bring us joy. But joy is never frivolous, especially now. It is a vital force that unites us across differences and creates space for hope, healing, and change. That is why I believe athletes and entertainers are not just performers — they are social changemakers with an extraordinary platform to shape culture and drive meaningful impact.

Sports and entertainment are at the intersection of joy, culture, and social impact. They bring people together not only to witness skill and artistry but to experience collective moments of connection and inspiration.

My career in law and public service has been rooted in building consensus, nurturing talent, and driving institutional change. These leadership skills are deeply transferable to industries like sports and entertainment, where collaboration and cultural influence are paramount. The question I often ask myself is, how can I leverage what I have learned to help these fields not only entertain but also unite and uplift?

The key lies in focusing on what brings people together without adding tension — creating a sense of shared experience that is inclusive and empowering. It is not only about those who do the work but also about those who receive it — the audiences, the communities, the fans who feel seen and valued. When athletes use their voice to highlight social issues, or entertainers channel their creativity to promote equity and justice, they create a ripple effect that can inspire action far beyond the spotlight.

The joy found in a stadium or a concert hall is more than fleeting fun. It can be a catalyst for dialogue, empathy, and change. As we look to the future, I am excited about expanding my impact into these arenas — working alongside athletes, entertainers, and cultural leaders to harness the power of joy as a force for good.

Frivolity, in today’s context, is complicated. How can anyone truly feel lighthearted when so many are hurting? Yet precisely because of that pain, joy must be embraced as a collective balm. It’s not about ignoring struggles but about creating spaces where healing begins and communities are strengthened.

By marrying joy and positive change, we can build bridges that withstand the pressures of division. We can transform sports and entertainment from mere spectacles into platforms for hope, resilience, and justice.
